The May Melee returns to Newnham-on-Severn, Gloucestershire for 2023. Bring your weapons.
A HEMA event like no other, taking place on the banks of the River Severn.
We welcome the community back for a chill weekend of smacking, whacking, finessing and progressing with some of the finest HEMAists in the UK.
You must be 18+ to attend The May Melee. This is a condition of our insurance.
Bring yourself, your fighting kit and protective gear, your tent, your snacks and your very best vibes.
Please do not bring your own alcohol, we will have a bar selling reasonably priced drinks. If you absolutely must, then we ask for a £10 donation towards the Pavilion’s restoration costs, as the bar profits will be going to this cause.

Although this event is insured, we are unable to cover accidents and injuries involving weaponry. We strongly recommend that you insure yourself as an individual if you are taking part in these. As a HEMA practitioner, it’s kind of a no-brainer.
